Von der Heyden Yachting is one of the Von der Heyden Group’s leading luxury subsidiaries in the portfolio specialising in yacht charter, sales and service of world-class yachts around the Mediterranean and other parts of the world..

We offer a combination of bespoke purchasing, selling, chartering, maintenance and yacht management services for motor and sailing yachts, whilst providing exclusive and tailormade solutions.

The Sales and Charters Manager’s position is a multifaceted role focused on managing and expanding a luxury yacht charter and sales business. Key responsibilities are charter management from inquiry to onboarding, managing yacht calendars, business development, planning strategic marketing campaigns and building strong relationships with clients, yacht owners and captains.

Charter Management

  • Oversee local and international charter requests from inquiry to contract and onboarding, providing continuous support to captains during charters and ensuring customer retention post-charter.
  • Manage yacht calendars and charter bookings, delegating inquiries as necessary.
  • Upsell additional experiences within the group and create tailored charter packages as needed.
  • Foster strong relationships between the company clients, yacht owners, and captains.
  • Actively seek new charter yachts to expand the fleet on a central agency basis.

Marketing

  • Research market opportunities and trends in yachting, both locally in Malta and internationally.
  • Assist in planning and implementing strategic marketing processes via digital platforms and local events.
  • Co-Manage the CRM system, input client data, and track and report marketing activities.
  • Assist in recommending and delivering accurate information and engaging marketing materials to charter brokers and external marketing agencies.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to create effective marketing and advertising campaigns across social media, digital platforms, and personal promotion channels.
  • Prepare detailed marketing reports for yacht owners and company directors.

Sales

  • Convert charter leads into clients by promoting our products locally and abroad.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries and track sales to meet targets.
  • Represent the company at key industry events across Europe and abroad to grow the B2B business, expand the client base, and enhance the fleet of international offerings.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders through excellent communication and a proactive approach.
  • Seek out yacht owners to sign central agency agreements for brokerage sales.
  • Focus on yacht sales during the winter season and plan marketing strategies for the following year.

Business Development

  • Stay updated with industry trends, market opportunities, and effective business tools to guide the company’s growth.
  • Oversee website development, B2B projects, and strategic partnerships to enhance the charter division.

Managerial Responsibilities

  • Oversee outsourced work, ensuring quality and timely delivery of services.
  • Report to the finance department, providing accurate financial data and forecasts related to charters, marketing activities, and sales performance.


Requirements:

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, Maritime Studies, or a related field (preferred).
  • 3-5+ years of experience in yacht chartering, sales, luxury travel, hospitality, or a similar industry.
  • Proven track record in sales, business development, and client relationship management.
  • Experience in luxury services, high-net-worth client interactions, or B2B sales.
  • Familiarity with the yachting industry, including chartering regulations, yacht management, and sales processes.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong ability to convert leads into clients, upsell services, and close deals effectively.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with yacht owners, brokers, captains, and charter clients.
  • Experience with digital marketing, CRM tools, event planning, and brand representation.
  • Understanding of sales forecasts, financial reporting, and pricing strategies.
  • Strong knowledge of local and international yachting trends, chartering regulations, and seasonal demand.
  • Willingness to travel internationally for industry events and client meetings.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks, solve issues proactively, and ensure smooth charter operations.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office
  • Knowledge of yacht booking platforms, charter agreements, and industry-specific systems.
  • Fluency in English (spoken and written) is essential. Additional languages (e.g., French, Italian, Spanish) are a plus.
